Spring for Love Blog Hop

Today I’m welcoming Kim Loraine to my blog. She’s a contemporary author who explores lost loves and second chances in her book Restoration: A Golden Beach Novel.

Kim, you describe your book as “hot,” which for the purposes of this blog hop is defined as: lots of passion and chemistry both physical and mental, open door sex, yet language and descriptions are tame. It must be entertaining to write about the sexual tension we all go through in a new romance.

You’ve been creating characters for a long time. How did you become interested in writing?

“I started writing at a young age, scribbling down song lyrics, short stories, and poems she was too afraid to share with anyone. Busy working as a music teacher in her Pacific Northwest, it wasn’t until her family of four picked up everything and moved to beautiful Japan that she decided to finally take the plunge and send her characters out into the world.”

Do you have a theme you like to explore?

“The central theme in my books is self-discovery, whether that is found through taking risks, breaking down walls, or admitting mistakes. I like to write characters that seem like ‘someone you actually know’, who find that love is a journey not without its challenges.”

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

“I like to spend time with my husband, chasing around our crazy kids, exploring Japan, and binge-watching Doctor Who on Netflix.”

3-27 Kim Loraine - RestorationSo Kim, what’s “Restoration” about?

After the tragic death of the love of her life, Grace McConnell only has one constant in her life, work. When she is offered a lead architect position on a project in a small English village, she jumps at the chance to get away from her hometown full of memories. Grace quickly discovers that this change was exactly what she needed to heal her broken heart. Until she meets Drew Tensley, a man who just happens to be the spitting image of her lost love.

Drew Tensley has always been a hard worker. Dedicated to his family and community, Drew put aside his own career to take over the family business after his mother’s terminal cancer diagnosis. A decision that cost him his marriage and career. Five years later, Drew is ready to start living for himself.

At war with her own heart, Grace tries to come to terms with the motives behind her feelings for Drew while he realizes just how far he is willing to go for love.

One last question. It feels like spring is never coming to my part of the world, so we need to appreciate it when it arrives. What is your favorite thing about spring?

Cherry Blossoms! They are so beautiful and a reminder of how fleeting life is. Live in the beauty of life every day.”

I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for visiting, Kim. I’m sure Restoration will be a great success.

Spring for Love Blog Hop

Today’s Spring Blog Hop author is Rebecca E. Neely, author of the romantic suspense, A Mighty Good Man. This contemporary has a heat level of “hot” that matches the danger.3-27 Rebecca E Neely - A Mighty Good Man

Blurb:

‘Hank’ Jerry…Her personal and professional life on the skids, a family emergency forces her to return to the small town, and the aunt, she left behind.  Jack ‘Gent’ Darcy…Fresh out of prison, he’s bent on cutting ties with the Creds, but when you’re a war counselor in a national gang, they don’t let you just walk away. Injured and on the run, Jack lands on Hank’s doorstep, and makes her a proposition she can’t refuse: write his story about life inside one of the most powerful gangs in the country. It’s simple – she’ll get her career groove back, and he’ll bury the gang, then disappear – his version of freedom. Only problem is, they can’t help falling for each other, and they’ve both got something to hide that could blow up in their faces. With time running out and gang enforcers closing in, will the trust they’ve forged survive the ultimate test?

Tell us a little about yourself Rebecca:

“I was born and raised in a small town in western Pennsylvania. I’ve been a voracious reader all my life, and I enjoy stories of all stripes. I hold a B.S. in Accounting from Penn State University, and worked in that field for about a decade. Since 2001, I’ve freelanced, writing a wide variety of copy for local magazines, and businesses all over the country. I’m a PRO member of Romance Writers of America (RWA), the Western Pennsylvania Romance Writers (WPRW), and have been honored to serve as a judge for several writing contests each year.”

With Spring just around the corner (Ha,ha), what are you looking forward to?

“I love the rich, radiant smell of the Earth that signals Spring is coming, and the way that one day, grass that’s been dulled by winter is suddenly a verdant, bright green.”
